Al Gore- The High Altitude Caused Obama's Debate Loss

I admit, I did not watch the presidential debate last night, but it seems Mitt Romney won hands down. Even liberal Time Magazine's Joe Klein said:

Well, I’m with all the other talking heads: Mitt Romney won this debate. Barack Obama lost it. I mean, he got his butt kicked. It was, in fact, one of the most inept performances I’ve ever seen by a sitting President. Romney — giving credit where it’s due — was calm, clear, convincing (even when he was totally full of it) and nearly human. The real mystery was Obama. Where on earth was he? Why was his debate strategy unilateral disarmament? Why did he never speak in plain English?

In fact most of the mainstream media outlets admitted Romney won the debate, and former Veep Al Gore- the man who claims he invented the Internet- has a theory as to why Obama bombed.  It was the altitude, stupid.  Yes, indeed, Al Gore believes the high altitude somehow affected Obama's brain capacity. I kid you not.

“I’m going to say something controversial here,” Gore said on his Current TV network’s post-debate analysis. “Obama arrived in Denver at 2:00 p.m. today, just a few hours before the debate started.  “Romney did his debate prep in Denver. When you go to 5,000 feet and you only have a few hours to adjust — I don’t know, maybe ….”

Maybe he just didn't prep, since he thinks it's a drag. Or maybe he's just lost without his teleprompter. But no-one's buying into Gore's bizarre theory, not even his own people.

Gore’s own employees weren’t buying their bosses latest improbable theory, however. “I just came from LA the same day,” Current TV host Cenk Uygur told his boss. “You know what I did? I drank two cups of coffee coming out here.”
There were a few other notable problems with Gore’s argument: The altitude did not appear to trouble Obama much in 2008, when the Democratic National Convention was held in mile-high Denver. That was when Obama gave his acceptance speech standing before a temple-like colonnade of columns erected on Denver’s Invesco Field (since redubbed Sports Authority Stadium at Mile High).

I am visiting a traditionally Democratic state in the northeast, and the preponderance of yard signs are Romney/Ryan, with a smattering of Gary Johnson (Libertarian) signs. I have seen maybe four Obama/Biden signs.

There is hope.
