LGBT Community Center To Allow Talk By Anti-Israel Writer

Most gays (at least the leftists) get it totally wrong when it comes to Israel and Palestine. They're the first to bemoan the lot of the Palestinian people- criticizing Israel in the process- and yet it's definitely not a reciprocated sentiment. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community doesn't seem at all fazed that in some Muslim countries being homosexual can get them jailed or even sentenced to death. Iran hangs them. Gaza jails them.  Israel, on the other hand, is very progressive when it comes to gays, but that doesn't matter, they've chosen the side that would rather see them dead or jailed.

The following is part of the Penal Code in Gaza.

Criminal Code Ordinance of 1936 54 Section 152 Unnatural offences “(2) Anyone who: (a) commits sexual intercourse with another person against the order of nature, or (b) commits sexual intercourse with an animal, or (c) permits or allows the above mentioned acts is considered to have committed a felony punishable by imprisonment for a term of ten years.”
In 2012, Tel Aviv, Israel, was voted best gay city.

But that doesn't seem to matter to gay writer and professor Sarah Schulman. In fact, she's as anti-Israel as you can get and a leading proponent of "pinkwashing":

...a deliberate strategy to conceal the continuing violations of Palestinians’ human rights behind an image of modernity signified by Israeli gay life. Aeyal Gross, a professor of law at Tel Aviv University, argues that “gay rights have essentially become a public-relations tool,” even though “conservative and especially religious politicians remain fiercely homophobic.”

Camera.org has an interesting article discussing the whole issue of  those in the LGBT community who put their anti-Israel bias above gay rights in Palestine, and how an  LGBT Community center in New York reversed its moratorium an all things Israel to allow Schulman to talk about her latest anti-Israel book.
